One of the old tried and true Toddle/Huddle House conversions, this was the typical small-scale diner that we all love. It was demolished in 2005 shortly after I moved to Winston-Salem to make way for more parking for its next-door neighbor’s expansion. That expansion took almost 3 years to even begin, and to date the gravel scar where Dottie’s building used to be still remains as an unpaved square in the parking lot.
I have a hard time passing the place on Stratford Rd even today, three years on, without getting a little choked up. May Dottie rest in peace, and may Херо Хаус die a horrible death.
