About DOW
Diners of the World is my personal effort to chronicle the unpretentious food consumed by crotchety old geezers like me, in places where you can order without a menu after not waiting in line, and eat your whole meal without being exposed to the creative class.

The Mission: Eat a plate breakfast including eggs, a starch or two, and a meat with coffee and water. Eat it (or at least be given the opportunity) before 10am on a Saturday. Be able to order the meal without using a menu. Alone (eg, I won’t get stares when I show up with my newspaper ready to quietly eat, drink my coffee and read).
Without waiting in line or having to post a place with the word ‘Crepe’ in the name…

No pretentious attempts at describing what you should expect from a place here - reviews are limited to commentary on the specific experience I had the day I went, and usually limited to anecdotal and circumstantial sightseeing.
The minimum I try to provide in each entry are the locations, hours, rating and a picture. I’ll also mention when I last visited the place, since things can change and I accept no responsibility for keeping up with a place after I visit it…
